10. “While Waiting”

Waiting on the road,
Poor Nil felt so tired,
waiting long beside the road.
The news of an accident
left his heart deeply wired.
He skipped his coffee,
rushed out full of fear,
Ran to BJ Hospital,
breath shaky and unclear.
Niki had some scratches,
& her ankle badly sprained,
All her friends had left the hospital,
worried and pained.
Her trembling voice on the phone that day
pierced his heart in the deepest way.
Softly Nil said, “Hey… I’m right here.
why fear, why weep?”
Not today, then tomorrow,
we surely will meet,”
making her smile to ease her fear.
The chocolate he brought for her….
he quietly ate alone, sitting only there…🤪💙
