15. “Eye to Eye”
(…continued…)
Nil ran half a kilometer to reach that place,
Niki came riding her scooty with ease and grace.
Seeing Niki,
his heart felt light and gay,
But seeing the scooty, he paused in surprise that day.
“Morning walk,” he said, “Made me run fast,
& you, the princess rode the scooty, calm & relaxed.
That’s not fair at all… what about me?”
Hearing this,
Niki laughed with cheer,
& said with a smile, clear and sincere,
“Oh! I just said it lightly, simple and plain,
Whatever the reason, meeting matters again.
You came running here, that’s your choice, dear,
So don’t blame me now,” she said with a tease so clear.
His face fell a little, he pointed to a coffee shop near,
Niki blushed pink and whispered low,
“Alright… I’m sorry,” her voice a gentle flow.
Both took a breath, feeling relief at last,
They met at last, thirst of the heart had passed.
Sitting face to face, their eyes began a silent fight,
Till the waiter arrived and broke that moment tight.
Coffee was ordered, the waiter sent away,
Niki, blushed softly, choosing silence to stay.
In the pink winter, she looked like a tender pink flower,
Seeing her so, Nil‘s too lost words …there…
