Talking and laughing
college time came near,
In a rush after breakfast
one more coffee they shared dear,

With heavy hearts
they walked apart,
Still, Niki dropped him slowly
as if asking him not to depart.

They held that moment
dreamy and true,
& with promises to meet again
& let their hearts feel a little more blue.

Today,
Niki missed her college class, without care,
Searching for Nil in her thoughts
lost in day-dreams floating in the air..

Her restless heart turned poetic once again
She hummed them softly with the rain….

“Why has my heart grown so restless today?
why does it long for someone this way?

What should I offer you,
what can I say,
to make you feel my mind someday?

I write your name inside my heart,
Will you ever read it, from the start?

Yesterday I met you, close and real,
Yet all my words forgot how to feel dear..

Had I said, ‘I like you,’
perhaps that moment may not have pleased you the same way.

What should I call this…love
or merely attraction’s start?
But your silent smile rests
deep within my heart.

Your face still shines before my eyes,
Without you
my world is colorless, empty of light…“
